Maximus in Minimus

The PAREF Preschools emblem is the vinta, the native Philippine outrigger with a sail of red, green, yellow, and blue stripes to depict the first colors that young learners know, thus symbolizing joyful adventures in preschool and kindergarten. The vinta is not a big ship, but it is strong and it is able to sail to different islands through strong winds and waves. Thus, the PAREF Preschool vinta symbolizes strength, security, and joyful learning.

Above the vinta are three stars. These symbolize the PAREF view of education as formation. From the teachings of Saint Josemaria, parents come first in formation (biggest star), teachers second (middle sized star), and third, the students (smallest star) whose wholistic education is the consequence of the formation of parents and teachers.

The PAREF Preschools emblem is completed by the motto inscribed in the banner, “Maximus in Minimis.” Literally translated as “the greatest in the smallest,” the phrase encapsulates the ideal of greatness in small things done with love and excellence. There are infinite possibilities in little beginnings when God is in them.
