School For Parents

School For Parents

The PAREF School for Parents is a series of talks or modules which are aligned with the goals of education and formation in the PAREF system. It is a 3-year program with various topics on parenting and upbringing of children. The general directions for the preschool parents who attend and complete our offering are as follows:

  • All formation should aim at deliberate self-giving or conscious love.
  • Parents have to invest time to cultivate the cardinal virtues, especially temperance and fortitude.
  • A constant reminder that the parents’ first task is the family, the education of their children.
  • The most important aspect of parenting is formation in the faith.

The School for Parents talks are given to parents whose children are entering the developmental stage of preschool levels (Toddler to Kinder). Through these talks, it is hoped that children are educated in character, beginning with self-giving as a goal.

The 3-year Program has the following topics:

YEAR 1:

Topic 1: Family as a Seedbed of Virtues
Topic 2: Valuing Difficulties & Developing Fortitude

YEAR 2:

Topic 1: Deliberate Self-Giving
Topic 2: Marital Unity

YEAR 3:

Topic 1: Prudence & Justice
Topic 2: Education in the Faith
