Parenting Chats

Parenting Chats

As part of the Personal Formation received by parents in PAREF Preschools, the mentors of the students chat with their parents regularly, at least 3 times in a year. The mentor talks about the child, his academics, behavior in class and with peers, and the child’s overall development.

Each student has a Progress Report prepared by the child’s teacher with inputs from his mentor and each section of the report is discussed with the parents, with anecdotes on the side. At the beginning of the school year, the goals of each student are also discussed with the parents and followed through in the succeeding chats. Parents may also ask questions or raise concerns about the child that both the school and the home may work on together. True home-school collaboration is done during these parenting chats.

In the parenting chats, parents are also invited to the spiritual and doctrinal means of formation that the school provides and the mentors may ask some parents to volunteer or help out in some of these activities.
