Peer Coaching
Peer Coaching
Effective home-school collaboration between parents and the school is essential in ensuring the best intellectual and character formation of children. Toward this end, Peer Coaching is a support system for all parents in the PAREF Preschools. Parents are given peer coaches whose main tasks are to orient parents in the philosophy of PAREF and to help them fulfill their role as primary character educators of their children, so they can be a better parent, a better spouse, and ultimately, a better Christ-centered person.
Male peer coaches are paired with Fathers while Female peer coaches are paired with Mothers. Peer coaches assist new parents especially in the NPEP cases and topics taken up and help them process learnings and how these can be applied to them as parents and spouses. Peer coaches meet with their coachees, one-on-one, once a month for around 30-45 minutes per coaching session. The coachee can talk about her concerns as a husband/wife and as a father/mother. PAREF appreciates the generous collaboration of the parents in the formative activities of the School, such as peer coaching.
